About
I'm finishing a BSc in Economics at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and am applying to the Master in Quantitative Economics and Finance (MiQE/F) at the University of St. Gallen for the 2027 intake. My coursework has pushed me toward the intersection of econometrics, financial markets, and the computational tools that make rigorous empirical work possible.
Alongside my studies I'm building Conviction — an investment research platform that synthesizes insider transactions, institutional filings, political trading data, and company fundamentals into a single view, so that serious investors can see a company from the angles that usually sit in separate silos.
Outside of work I split my time between Nakskov and Odense. I read widely — quantitative finance, AI, philosophy, and serious fiction — and I keep myself honest with a calisthenics practice that refuses to let abstract work crowd out the physical kind.
The best way to reach me is by email: alfred@alfredbirkelund.com. I read everything and reply to most things.
